To kick off the International Migratory Bird Day festivities at the
Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens [KAG] (http://www.nps.gov/keaq/), DC Audubon will
be organizing a birdwalk in and around this amazingingly diverse urban
wetland. This fieldtrip is perfectly poised to capture the excitement of the
annual spring migration. Given the diversity of habitats within KAG, we
expect to observe a variety of long-distance as well as short-distance
migrant species.

We will meet within the KAG parking lot at 7:30am sharp and will then
proceed along the park trails questing for common as well as elusive birds.
If time permits, we will attempt to cover the open meadows along the
southern edge of the park which provides ideal habitat for shrub-scrub and
grassland preferring species such as Field Sparrows and Yellow-breasted
Chats.
