DC Audubon’s Trip to Delaware and Eastern Shore Marshes
Meet at 7:00 a.m. at Bread and Chocolate at Eastern Market, 666 Pennsylvania Ave., SE
Volunteer drivers for the trip are requested.

Plan to spend the day looking for newly arrived waterfowl, songbirds and raptors and perhaps some Bald Eagles. This is the perfect birding trip – no biting bugs, no leaves on the trees to obscure your views, and it is a great warm-up for tuning up your bird skills for the Audubon Christmas Bird Counts.

First stop will be Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge near Dover, DE, where there are no planned hunts scheduled. http://www.fws.gov/northeast/bombayhook/
Depending on the density of birds, we may migrate to look for birds in other Delaware locations later in the day.

Bring lunch, snacks and drinks. Dress in layers for warmth, as winds and cloud cover can make temperatures feel significantly colder when spending extended time outdoors.
Beginners are welcome and encouraged to join us.

Trip leader is Denise Ryan. Please RSVP for the trip by Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 to Denise at savetheocean at yahoo.com with your name, email address, emergency phone number, name and number of participants, and if you are willing to carry additional passengers in your car.
